Epidemiology Working Group

The Epidemiology working group contributes to the development of harmonized procedures for epidemiological surveillance networks. For this, Epidemiology working group:

- Assesses and supports epidemiological surveillance networks in the region;

- Develops risk analysis for the region;

- Defines criteria for priority diseases.

The Epidemiology working group supports:

      - The development of the CaribVET website, of regional databases and of national Geographic Information Systems (GIS) projects;

      - Epidemiology projects implemented in the region ;

- Develops and validates tools prior they are used by CaribVET members.


Laboratory quality assurance and diagnosis Working Group

The Laboratory quality assurance and diagnosis working group contributes to the improvement of diagnostic capacities in the Caribbean and to the development of the principles of laboratory quality assurance in the region. For this, it:

- Helps in implementing quality assurance in the Caribbean laboratories (training expertise);

- Helps in organizing inter-laboratory assays;

- Participates in the evaluation of the laboratory diagnostic capacities in the region and provide guidance for their improvement.
