- 07/08/2009 - Teschovirus encephalomyelitis outbreak in Haiti
- Dear members of the CaribVET network,
The current outbreak of Teschovirus in pigs in Haiti is a serious threat for Haitian pig producers and it can become a threat for other countries of the region, considering the high infectivity of the pathogen.
A brief description of the outbreak is given on the website homepage, as well as links with FAO reports and disease documentation. The situation will be updated regularly on the website.

- Dear CVOs,
The “steering” mailing-list has been created to facilitate communication between Caribbean CVOs and international organizations.
CVOs will be addressed through this list for official communications regarding regional programmes, meetings and sanitary events.
Current members of the list are the 2009 CaribVET Steering Committee countries’ and organizations’ representatives.
Please provide the relevant e-mail address for official communications (CVO or representative), and specify the occupation. Provide us as well the office email address if necessary so that in your absence, the person holding over will receive the mail or the secretary can give it to the member.
CIRAD will have the task to update the list, so please update your contacts information via caribinfo@caribvet.net.
Please find attached the CaribVET steering committee recommendations.
The draft is proposed to you for comments or validation before its publication. Deadline is May the 8th.

- CaribVET coordination team wishes you a Happy New Year 2009
The CaribVET newsletter has been reactivated and will allow you to get information regarding the network's activities and the major sanitary events.
The website has been modified to allow a more efficient browsing (google search tool, new top menu).
A Forum has been created to allow more interaction between the different working groups. This forum is available only in loggin mode, and is situated on the right end side of the website home page.
Summaries and presentations of the last CaribVET meetings and workshops are available in the Meetings menu (see the abstracts below). Information about diseases present in the region has been updated and new diseases technical cards have been added (e.g. avian diseases, CSF).

- The CaribVET newsletter has been reactivated!!!
You will now be informed of the main modifications done on the website on a regular basis and in case of sanitary alert.
A google search tool has been added to make it possible to find all the documents of the website with the keywords entered.
A Forum with different groups is available for the working groups, making it possible for the different groups to interact.
