La newsletter a été réactivée et vous permettra d’être tenus informé des activités du réseau et des principaux événements sanitaires. Le site a été réorganisé pour une meilleure navigation, notamment grâce à un nouvel outil de recherche Google search et de nouveaux menus. Un Forum de discussion a été créé avec des ateliers spécifiques aux différents groupes de travail (accessible en mode loggé, en haut à droite de la page d’accueil du site). Les dernières réunions et ateliers réalisés dans le cadre du réseau sont présentés dans le menu Réunions (voir ci-dessous). Les informations sur les maladies présentes dans la région ont été mises à jour et des monographies d’autres maladies ont été ajoutées (maladies aviaires, PPC…). |

The first official training of the VEP (Veterinary Epidemiologist/Para-epidemiologist) team took place in Santo Domingo from the 14th to the 18th of July 2008. The VEPs from Barbados, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Haiti, St. Kitts and St. Lucia attended the LBMS course. More than eighty participants from across the United States of America, the Caribbean and South America were in attendance. Though the majority of attendees were veterinarians; animal health technicians, laboratory personnel and veterinary students were also present. On December 8, 2008, the Caribvet epidemiology working group led by Dr. Thierry Lefrancois of CIRAD convened a working session at Hotel Seville, Habana, Cuba. The meeting was facilitated by Centro Nacional de Sanidad Agropecuaria (CENSA) and was received by Maria Irian Percedo Abreu a member of the Caribvet epi-working group.
