Themed ‘Learning & Sharing Today, Building a Better Life Tomorrow’ ISVEE 15 will be a global forum for interdisciplinary collaboration and communication among graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, practitioners, junior and senior researchers, as well as policymakers, health, veterinary public health, social science, and animal health economic professionals, to learn and share with a vision of building a better life tomorrow for veterinary epidemiology at the local, regional, and international levels. The 15th International Symposium of Veterinary Epidemiology and Economics (ISVEE 15) is coming to Chiang Mai, Thailand, on 12 - 16 November 2018. As in previous symposiums, ISVEE 15 will be a global forum for interdisciplinary collaboration and communication among graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, practitioners, junior and senior researchers, as well as policymakers, health, veterinary public health, social science, and animal health economic professionals, to learn and share with a vision of building a better life tomorrow for veterinary epidemiology at the local, regional, and international levels.

To achieve this shared vision, we will be inviting well-known keynote speakers to share their vision and wisdom in the areas of education, animal health and production, technology, research and public policy – presenting innovations that can be applied to our common goal of solving today’s burning issues in veterinary epidemiology and economics. Your research and studies are welcome to be shared at ISVEE 15.

Thailand’s northern capital Chiang Mai will be a wonderful site for the symposium: a calm and relaxing alternative to the whirlwind pace of life in Bangkok, it is the ideal environment in which to focus on becoming more knowledgeable, and more active, protagonists in the pursuit of solutions to the problems affecting human and animal populations in these times of great change.

CALL FOR PRE- AND POST- ISVEE WORKSHOPS

Pre- and Post-ISVEE 15 workshops will be held during 10-11 and 17-19 November 2018. The main location will be at the Empress Chiang Mai (http://empresshotels.com/) or at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Chiang Mai University (http://www.vet.cmu.ac.th/). There are several rooms available with different capacities (15, 20, 40, and 80 participants) for the workshop. If you are interested in offering a workshop, the deadline to submit proposals 15 January 2018. Guidelines for submission of proposals are available online here.

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS ISVEE AWARDS 2018

It is now time to call for nominations for ISVEE awards 2018 given in recognition of outstanding contribution and scientific achievements in Veterinary Epidemiology and Economics. Funded by the Roger Morris Sub-Trust of the Masseyst University Foundation, these prestigious awards shall consist of a medal and a contribution to the recipient’s travel to ISVEE.

ISVEE 15 VENUE 

The Empress Convention Centre at the Empress Chiang Mai Hotel is situated in the center of Chiang Mai within quick distance of the iconic Night Market, the airport, and the train station. With meeting facilities within the hotel and a city-first dedicated convention building, the Empress Convention Centre can accommodate events from small business meetings to exhibitions spanning both indoor and outdoor areas with space for over 1,500 guests.
