CaribVET Strengthens resilience of veterinary services in the Caribbean

CaribVET has been invited by the "DIO" Non Governmental Organization (member of VSF international) to write an article on its work undertaken in the region in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, more particularly on how to handle natural disasters with a view to assist the veterinary services.

On the invitation of Dr. Sylvia STRIK, volunteer for the veterinary newspaper "DIOloog" of the DIO* foundation (Diergeneeskunde In Ontwikkelingssamenwerking), the CaribVET Emergency preparedness sub-group wrote an article publshed in the "CaribVET strengthens resilience of veterinary services in the Caribbean in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management" published in the DIOloog Newsletter n°1.

Dr. STRIK was the former CVO of Sint Eustatius and she worked actively in the CaribVET network in 2014, when St. Eustatius became officially the 33rd member of the CaribVET network.

* The Foundation for Veterinary Medicine in Development and Cooperation (DIO) offers support and advice in the field of animal health and husbandry, the underprivileged populations in the world, regardless of origin, religion or political affiliation. The foundation celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2017.
