18 to 19 May 2016, two-day field exercise to test the Avian Influenza Contingency Plan related to disease control primarily involving animal health, poultry owners, village communities as well as other required sectors.

The objective was to test the ability to coordinate outbreak response including surveillance in Haiti at the local, subnational and national levels.

The simulation exercises are funded by the IICA (Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture) under the 10th EDF (European Development Fund) in order to develop and revise emergency response plans concerning highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in seven CARIFORM (The Forum of the Caribbean Group of African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) States) countries: Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, St. Lucia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
