CaribVET has been invited by the "DIO" Non Governmental Organization (member of VSF international) to write an article on its work undertaken in the region in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, more particularly on how to handle natural disasters with a view to assist the veterinary services.

One Health leaders from 12 countries graduate

The European Union funded ‘One Health One Caribbean One Love” project brought together 50 participants from 12 Caribbean countries for the fifth and final module of the One Health Leadership series entitled ‘The Way Forward for One Health in the Caribbean’ at the Kapok Hotel, Trinidad from November 30th to 1st December 2016.

Avian Influenza: CIRAD and USDA train 8 Caribbean experts to map risk analysis

The Caribbean is subject to several risk factors regarding the introduction and spread of Avian Influenza. It is a region of high poultry production, with a high quantity of animal trade and a large diversity of ecosystems. It is also a nesting area for migratory birds which could transmit the disease to domestic poultry.
