10th Meeting of the GF-TADs Steering Committee (Panama City, 17 Sept)
The Global Framework for the Progressive Control of Transboundary Animal Diseases (GF-TADs) is a joint FAO and OIE initiative to achieve the prevention, detection and control of transboundary animal diseases, combining the strenghts of both international organizations to achieve commone objectives. African Swine Fever, is an extremely dangerous disease, considered a biological disaster hazard that is spreading fast in Asia, Europe and in Africa, and threatening the Americas. -

ISESSAH-InnovSur 2018 was a high-level scientific conference on the contribution of economics and social sciences to animal health and on innovation in next generation of health surveillance.

ONE WEEK : A week of gathering around "One Health" and "EcoHealth" approaches
From October 9 to 13, nearly fifty Cirad's scientists from all over the world, as well as Asian and African partners, will meet in La Réunion (french island located in the indian ocean) for a week of exchanges and reflections about the "One Health" and "EcoHealth" approaches. This unprecedented event will involve researchers working in four partnership-based mechanisms (CaribVET, RP-PCP, GREASE and ONE HEALTH - OI). this meeting will aim to develop new lines of work and collaboration between these networks and health platforms specializes in animal health and veterinary public health. -
3rd Int. Conference on Animal Health Surveillance - New Zealand (30 April - 4 May 2017)
3 years after the 2nd ICAHS held in Cuba jointly with the 10th CaribVET SC meeting, New Zealand organized the 3rd ICAHS. The theme of the conference was "“Beyond Animal Health Surveillance”, and intended to further emphasize integration of surveillance in the animal, human and environmental health domains to further integrate One Health approaches into health surveillance. Our colleague, Bryan Sanford (Barbados) participated in the conference and gives us a brief report of his experience there. -
For the first time the global One Health and EcoHealth communities were brought together to create more integrated approaches to research and practice on global health challenges.

World Egg Day Celebration, Belize City, Belize, 14 October 2016
World Egg Day was established at the International Egg Commission Vienna 1996 Conference when it was decided to celebrate World Egg Day on the second Friday in October each year. -
GEOVET 2016 “Using GIS Tools in a Hyperconnected World”, Valdivia, Chile, 7-11 November 2016
GEOVET 2016 is the third such GIS conference. GEOVET is held every three years (previously New Zealand and England). It provided an international forum for researchers, policy-makers and agencies that use spatial epidemiological methods to present, review and discuss methods and GIS applications. -
Rabies in the Americas, Belém, Para, Brazil, 23-28 October 2016
RITA 2016 gathered 250-300 attendees from about 35 countries across the Americas and beyond. The meeting provided an international forum for the delegates from various countries to interact and share the latest scientific findings and knowledge about rabies surveillance. -
The Second ICAHS is organized in Cuba by the Centro Nacional de Sanidad Agropecuaria (CENSA), in collaboration with an international group of volunteer surveillance researchers and professionals and with CaribVET who organized jointly its 9th Steering Committee Meeting.
